Voting the Contract- Sept. 3rd

At Cotillion
11120 West Kellogg, Wichita, KS 67209

  1. We will walk out of Boeing at 10:00 A.M.
  2. Doors will open at 11:00 A.M.,  Bring proof of ID to the Cotillion
  3. Get a Copy of ALL Proposed Contract Changes, as well as a Summery

Members can obtain a complete copy of proposed changes at the Local Lodge  834 office.  While we hope to have them available some time during the Labor day weekend, it depends on when Boeing delivers their last, best and final offer. In the last few contracts, they have not delivered at the predetermined time they agreed to.

  4. What is on the Ballots
    There are two separate ballots:
            A. One to accept or reject the contract.
            B. One to authorize a strike.

BALLOT 2:    IMPORT: The IAM
Constitution requires two thirds YES vote on this ballot to
strike. Without two thirds, even if a majority of our members
reject the contract - the contract will be accepted by default.

     5. Polls close at 4:00 P.M. and the votes will be counted at the Cotillion location. Once the ballots are counted with all sites the results will be posted with web page of (www.iam751.org) as well as released to media.
     6.  What Do the Results Mean
            a.  If a majority of the voting members vote to ACCEPT the contract, negotiation end and the contract is signed.
            b.  If a majority of the voting members vote to REJECT the contract, but LESS THAN TWO-THIRDS vote to strike. The contract is automatically accepted by default. The Union cannot call a strike.
            c.  If a majority of the voting members vote to REJECT the contract, and MORE THAN TWO-THIRDS vote to strike, a strike can be called at 12:01 A.M. September 4th.
