Strike Checks
 

The Local Office received a call from the District.  We are told that all Strike Checks will be sent back to International on Monday, November 24, 2008. If you are eligible for strike pay, or know of those who are, be certain to make arrangements to have checks picked up before Monday. 
Once these Strike Checks are sent back to International, we will not have this pay available again. 
 

Any remaining strike checks will be available for pickup at the District 70 (3830 S. Meridian, Wichita, Ks.) Monday through Friday only (unless previous arrangements are made). Again, there is no strike check distribution on Saturdays. Strike Check pickup will continue weekdays only and on Monday, December 1st. All Strike checks in Wichita that are not picked up by December 1st will be sent back to Grand Lodge on December 2nd.

Taxes: Also you will be receiving a 1099 tax form in January from the Grand Lodge. Any strike pay of $600 or more must be claimed on your taxes.
 
Strike Checks & Food distribution begins September 27th

Started on Saturday September 27th , Last check is Saturday Nov. 8  following members collect their strike benefits from the Union. We have set up a location at the District 70 Lodge (3830 S. Meridian, Wichita, Ks. 67217).  Check - food distribution will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m..

·         Must collect the check in person and show picture ID

·         Member must be in good standing with dues paid through August

·         Since federal law required the Union to report all strike benefits over $600 to the IRS. you will be required to verify your Social Security number
