Effective June 7, 2013, a 17 cent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will be added to the hourly wage rate for IAM members at Boeing. Message from District 70

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Obviously the Company is putting out the wrong information regarding the shut down, etc.  We wanted you to know that we are out of town on Union Business and will be returning over the upcoming weekend.

On Monday, June 10th, we will be out on the floor to meet with the Union Stewards and Members.  Getting the correct information to each of you is of upmost importance, as we realize the huge impact this is having on your lives and the lives of your families.  We are sorry for the confusion but had the understanding that nothing would surface until our return.

 In Solidarity,

 Frank Molina, DBR

Donate Your Unused Medical Equipment to Medical Loan Closet of Wichita

Do you have any Medical Equipment that is not being used, taking up space in your house or garage that you intend to get rid of or donate to a good cause? Well, here is your chance to do some early spring cleaning and help others in the process.

The Medical Loan Closet of Wichita has an urgent need for Durable Medical Equipment.

The following is a message from Lloyd Hanna, the Executive Director of the Medical Loan Closet of Wichita.

“Hello, I need your help. When friends ask how the MLC of Wichita is doing, I say business is good, but the reality is, it is sad so many folks have needs that are not being met.”

Equipment requests the first two weeks of December; 1-hospital bed, 2-walkers, 1-blood pressure cuff, 1-bedside commode, 8-wheelchairs, 1-walker with wheels, 1-exterior ramp, 1-toilet seat riser, 1 nebulizer, 1 hydraulic bath chair, 1-barietic walker, and 3-tub transfer benches have gone out the door with many, many, many recipients saying…thank you…thank you…”I don’t know what I would have done.”  That list follows the “230+” items already loaned since we started providing service in May 2012! At the end of 2012, the current waiting list is for: 2-hospital beds, 2-knee walkers, 3-lift chairs, 4-bath transfer benches, 2-bath seats and 2-18” wheelchairs.

“Would you contact your friends, your social network, your church, your fellow workers and maybe even look in your garage, to see if there is any “Durable Medical Equipment” not being used… Please consider donating them to the MLC of Wichita. Thank You!”

To donate equipment: Contact Lloyd Hanna, 316.200.2005 or 316.516.2199, mlchum8111@gmail.com , www.mlcwichita.org, 3006 W. St Louis, Wichita, KS or contact Mario Cervantes, United Way of the Plains, 316.267.1321 Ext: 4209
